AGM
All
positions are open for election in particular the position of President. I
undertook to be President until the AGM only. I feel that others should consider
standing for this position. I am willing to put my name forward for the
committee as are all the newly elected committee. We will always need new
committee to ensure freshness, enthusiasm and a variety of ideas. Why not give
it a go. As Easter is in the wings Eggs will be the theme. Gay Wiltsher &
Heather Hopson from Eggcetera Artworx will be there. If you have any painted
eggs bring them along to add to the display table.

"Mothers
Day” Theme, painting a brooch The Society to provide the brooch and paints you
bring your brushes etc.
*June 6th
Olga Vost will be
talking on her recent trip home to Russia, and hopefully her experience of
teaching all those wonderful Aussie Artists( many of whom were teachers of some
repute) at Jan Shaws in February

that we would enjoy listening to, talk about his or her particular specialty
then please let us know.

- Junes Newsletter has a very interesting article from Myrlene Roddick
on her recent trip with Lois Adams to America and the American Convention. The article was
printed in our June Newsletter.
- They promoted our Artryst and the Helen Kuster workshop. It is lovely
to see workshops listed and photos of teachers workshops as Myrlene Roddicks Handpainted
Heirlooms list of classes and Country Mayds Workshops.
- Jennifer Porter wrote an article on her trip to Christchurch to their
Convention with Deborah Kneen and Christine Whipper.
- Country Mayds (Jennifer & Heather) gave a presentation to Rotoehu
WDFF on folk art and how they started.
- Their Guild is also a member of the Arts Society and Friends of the
Gallery receiving Newsletters from them both.

Aussie Tolers is a
free E-Mail list set up by 2 ladies Elaine Wakka & Denise Kidd in November
1999 with members from all over the world it is truly a Global Community Group
whose member come from all walks of life. Many live in isolated areas, in the
country or the city. They join for the sole purpose of meeting, sharing learning
& supporting each other whether they be a raw beginner or a known published
artist.
They have a
comprehensive resource website, a Gallery of members paintings, a collection of
free to use line drawings & graphics a chat room for weekly on line
discussions, Book Reviews, the list goes on. If you have a problem they are
there to help you if they can, be it a colour conversion, a paint mix, a
computer problem in fact almost anything. This is painters helping painters, and
encouraging growth.
