Fruit Sampler

| We have used the Jo Sonja range of products in this
project.
The background is Jo Sonjas background colour Vellum
- Transfer a suitable design or print out the colour sheet from this page and make a
tracing from it.
- Begin the painting by glazing around the outside areas as previous colour diagram with
Burnt Umber plus a touch of Burgundy. You may be smooth or dry brush, artists
choice.
- Base fruit in Gold Oxide plus Yellow Oxide. Base leaves and grapes Teal Green plus Moss
Green, just brush mix these colours.
- Add more Moss Green to mix and highlight grapes, then the leaves.
- Brush a thin coat of Retarder over fruit and leaves. Glaze fruit with Vermilion to
Napthol Red Light to Burgundy. Deepen shadows around fruit, Burnt Umber or Black for stems
and veins.
- Highlights of Warm White plus Yellow Oxide to final shine of Warm White. Thin washes or
again as a glaze have fun.
- Dry. One barrier coat of Clear Glaze Medium.
- Final Glaze of Burnt Umber plus a touch of Burgundy over the Retarder.
