Coufreur
Jos
Coufreur was born in Holland in 1959 and studied at the Royal Academy of
Art in Den Bosch in Holland. He and his wife came to New Zealand in
1987, and have four children.
Jos
specialises is equine paintings. His works are mostly racing scenes in
oils, but he also does a lot of commission work in other mediums. He is
a recognized equine artist in New Zealand and has painted ‘Sir
Tristram’ and ‘Zabeel’ for Sir Patrick Hogan of Cambridge Stud.
‘Sunline’ has been captured for her owners Trevor McKee and Helen
Lusty and Peter Vela of Karaka Park has a collection of racing pictures
by this talented artist.
One
of his artworks has been used on the cover of the book ‘First Past the
Post’, NZ Racing Stories.
Jos
holds regular workshops and is the resident tutor of the Cambridge Art
Society.
