Tom Keating was a famous artist and restorer who first came to public notice in 1976
when it was revealed he had painted thirteen drawings attributed to Samuel Palmer. In his
subsequent trial at The Old Bailey, London, it transpired that he had painted over 2000
pictures in the style of 150 artists! He claimed he did them to express his opinion of the
art establishment! Keating was however more than a skilled copyist. He was a highly
respected restorer and his special knowledge combined with his ability to communicate has
produced these 2 fascinating TV series.
