Since 1975, Neocolor™ II Aquarelle has established itself as a staple of Fine Arts, thanks to its versality and the intensity of its pigments. It originated from a specific request: in the early 1950s Caran d’Ache launched Neocolor™ I, a permanent wax pastel favoured by educators and artists such as Picasso and Mirò. Its vibrant colours and quality are unmatched, but it has one drawback: it adheres so well that it leaves a permanent mark on tables. In response, Caran d’Ache created a water-soluble version, and thus Neocolor™ II Aquarelle was born.
For its 50th anniversary, Caran d’Ache celebrates this legacy with a Special Edition and a Limited Edition. Fifteen new colours enrich five thematic palettes: Pop, Lush, Portrait, Pastel and Dark. Each box of 10 colours includes three new shades for bold explorations.
The Maison Caran d’Ache goes all out with a Limited Edition wooden box that holds 50 shades, including the 15 new ones. A truly exceptional gift or a centrepiece for any artist’s studio.
This jubilee honours 50 years of art and inspiration.
