MM9 Acrylic Painting Medium is a pure acrylic binder used in formulating Matisse Colours and acts as the principal paint dilutant when not using water. Water may be used with theMatisse colours. However, the addition of more than 30-50% water to Matisse Colours will reduce notonly their colour strength (which, of course, is generally the required result) but will also reduce the binding capacity of the Matisse colours. This may lead to the Matisse colours becoming water-sensitive. MM9 Acrylic Painting Medium is used in addition with equal parts water to ensure the MatisseColours remain waterfast when they are reduced forglazing or any other purpose where water is addedto the paint. MM9 Acrylic Painting Medium withitslow sheen and good adhesion makes it a suitable transparent primer or surface conditioner for canvas, paper or board.
